General Employment Information

The following information may be of interest to those considering relocating to the Wenatchee Valley as new teachers with the Eastmont School District.

Employment Information: Traditionally, schools open the last week of August. Teachers are paid for two days prior to the start of school for preparing their room, materials, etc. See your building principal for preparation information. Teachers are paid on the last working day of the month.

Fingerprinting: Eastmont School District No. 206 requires your fingerprints to obtain a report from the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation of your record of criminal convictions for offenses against persons, civil adjudication's of child abuse, and disciplinary board final decisions. If you are hired before Eastmont School District No. 206 receives the report, YOUR EMPLOYMENT IS EXPRESSLY CONDITIONED ON YOUR RECEIPT OF A SATISFACTORY REPORT.

Teacher's Union: The teacher's association dues is approximately $67 per month and is tax deductible.

Credential Requirements: Teachers from out of state will be required to apply for a Washington State credential. For Washington State Credential information, please contact; Sariann Meredith at the North Central Educational Service District, (509) 665-2622, or pattrefry@ncesd.org There will be a fee for processing the fingerprinting, and the certification. If you sign a contract and become a teacher with the Eastmont School District, you will need to bring your official transcripts, name and address of previous employer, teaching certificate, Social Security card, and driver's license when you come to the District Office for payroll processing. This should be done as soon as possible after arriving to the area.

Health and Welfare

Eastmont School District offers the following Health & Welfare Benefits Choices for employees in accordance with your full-time equivalent (FTE) status:

MEDICAL:

DENTAL:
Washington Dental - $1,500.00 maximum allowable benefit per calendar year. Benefits are paid on graduated step basis starting at 70%.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY:
American Fidelity. Coverage for Medical Leave after 90 days.

OPTIONAL DAYS FOR ADDITIONAL PAY:
2 Preparation Days prior to school.
4 Inservice Days.
1 Records Day at end of 1st semester.
1 Action Research Day.
1 Day for Day before School.
1 Day for Additional Duties.
2 Learning Improvement Days

These days are paid at per diem. To calculate per diem, divide annual base salary by 180.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT:
For teachers holding a residency teaching certificate, the district will reimburse tuition costs for up to 10 quarter hours of college credit per year.

TEACHER REIMBURSEMENT FUND
A fund of $300 per FTE teacher was established to reimburse teachers for incidental classroom supplies and materials.
